Pre-Travel Checklist

September 14, 2017

Injections [visit your GP/any travel clinic to find out which ones are necessary. Beware some are a course of 3 so do this at least 6 weeks prior to leaving]

• Malaria tablets - there are two kinds, one are much more expensive. We both had different kinds and were both totally fine taking both types

• Useful items to pack [mosquito net, 100% DEET, bumbag, lightweight waterproof, sleeping bag liner (amazing if sleeping in a grotty hostel bed), bag dividers for your clothes/underwear etc, multiple cards incase one gets lost and have no access to funds $$$]

• Download these iPhone apps we found super useful throughout our trip:

- XE currency - currency converter

- Polarsteps - an amazing app that tracks your exact journey taken from start to finish

- SplitWise - the only way to keep track of who owes who what

- TripAdvisor - useful for EVERYTHING

- HostelWorld - you will need to make an account to book accomodation

- Booking.com - also helpful for accomodation

- 1SE (One Second Everyday) - a great way of keeping memories

- Kiwi.com - a site to find & book the cheapest flights, trains and buses

• Travel card to avoid being charged extortionate amounts for taking money out. We both got a Monzo and Revolut card each before we left. They are both prepaid top up cards, and having two each absolutely saved our lives when we lost things (which always seems to happen when moving around so often!)

• Medical items you may require whilst out there

• Adapters [more space effective to buy usb plugs for countries visited, as world adapters are bulky and you don't need half of the plugs included]

• Book your first hostel [arriving somewhere with nowhere to stay and a load of stuff can be problematic]

• If taking a GoPro buy a few memory cards as they fill up super quickly
